A Special Day

 Today in the Paiaka Hub we said farewell and thank you to Mrs Ferguson who is finishing as a teacher at St Francis of Assisi School. This term Mrs Ferguson has been a teacher on the Paiaka Team, but before that she worked in all areas of the school and is known as an amazing artist and maths teacher.

The card that Ella is holding contains messages and memories from each child in the Paiaka Hub.

Today was our reward day for Term Three. Students are rewarded with Tu Meke tokens (meaning "over and above") that they can use to vote for a reward. The votes for craft and for a movie were very even so this morning students enjoyed themselves watching "Luka" or making or drawing.

The last activity in a day of awesomeness was a cricket workshop with a coach from Cricket NZ. Did we take any photos? Nooooo!

Did we have fun? Yeeeess!!

Week Eight

What a great week we have had.

We have been learning new kupu-words and phrases everyday for Te Wiki o te Māori. There are lots of photos in the newsletter of the activities on Friday that the whole kura-school took part in.

We are working hard on our PBL projects about gravity in the home, world and space.

Congratulation to our ākonga who received awards at our hui.

Today, Wednesday, Tumu and Paiaka ākonga paired up to read books-panui, draw-mahi toi and sing-toiere in Te reo Māori.
